What the heck IS a NIPPLEBACK, anyway?

Missing Something?? Here's your NIPPLEBACK! heheheh

When Stacie-Rae lost her breasts and her nipples due to a prophylactic mastectomy, she truly learned how difficult it is to see your body without those 2 little circles.

We really are programmed to recognize ourselves with ease and comfort only when the appearance is 'complete'.

Don't know what you're missing until you have it back

in writing the A.R.T. Areola Restorative Tattoo book, Stacie-Rae took photos of her consenting friends nipples to draw portrait-style renderings of, and NIPPLEBACKS were born!

Having realistic nipples following a mastectomy is the path to true emotional healing. If you can't have permanent nipple tattoos, this temporary option can do so much!

Emotional Healing:

The medical field of course, focuses on physical healing and the eradication of Cancer. The emotional and spiritual side of the healing journey is up to the survivor and her 'sisters', the strong community that tends to build itself around those who need it most, when they need it most. Nipples are the first thing little girls are told to hide or be ashamed of showing. They are the first thing shown in a PG movie when little boys are old enough to 'handle' it. They are banned from social media and sexualized by almost every culture.

They are one of the most important parts of our feminine identity, the way that we connect with our lovers, the way that we nurture our babies, and the part of our body we dress up or hide, depending on the amount of attention we want.

No two nipples are alike, so we have many styles!

NIPPLEBACKS were lovingly created by professional tattoo artists on the A.R.T. team. Some are named after their designer, and some are named as dedications to fallen shero's who we have lost to cancer. These powerful emotional healing aids are created with heart, from the heART, and we hope you love them as much as we do!
